The new Palermo Waterfront project proposes a structural dialogue between the city and its sea, building a new, human-scale relationship between city, infrastructure, landscape, and water.
The design creates a new, unified and rich system of collective paths and spaces, replacing the current fragmentation and heterogeneity of spaces and structures with a new landscape strongly integrated into the urban dynamics.
The ongoing reconnection has urban, architectural, and functional dimensions, helping to design new urban spaces and places with different functions, connected by a network of new paths immersed in a system of lawns and small parks. The waterfront will be more attractive, accessible, and enjoyable, contributing to the enhancement of the urban identity of the city of Palermo.
